The NetAmerica Corporation Opens New Office at Hoffman Center

Thank you to Sherman Ragland, of Realinvestors, LLC for bringing his client to The Hoffman Center at 2034 Eisenhower Avenue. NetAmerica an 8(a) contractor from Bowie, MD recently won a new contract from the Patent and Trademark Office creating the need for space in close proximity to the PTO. NetAmerica will occupy 3,000 sf for the next five years, joing several other PTO related firms in the building.

Defense Contractor Moves to Tavern Square

Nangwik Services, a subsidiary of the Chenega Corporation has now opened its new offices at 421 King Street in Old Town Alexandria. With the assistance of Tartan Properties Nangwik surveyed the Northern Virginia market for larger and more prominent space with close proximity to Capitol Hill with improved amenities. Their new 3,300 sf space will better allow Nangwik to serve their government and private sector customers and provide their employees an improved working environment.

PlowShare Opens Washington Office

Tartan is proud to announce that PlowShare, a cause related advertising agency, has opened a new Washington office at 128 King Street in Old Town. This Connecticut based firm has been searching with Tartan’s assistance for over two years to find the right space that conveys the creativity and energy of their company. The renovations of this historic building, at the foot of King Street, will incorporate reclaimed wide plank hardwood floors, exposed brick and beams. Many thanks to the Paul Beckman of Beckman Architects for making this old building come back alive.

Lange, Thomas & McMullen Say Goodbye to K Street

After 15 years on K Street, the once DC based law firm of Lange, Thomas & McMullen has moved to have inked a 5 year, 2,500 sf deal to continue serving their commercial law practice at 6489 Old Dominion Drive, in McLean. Mike Porterfield of Tartan Properties represented LTM in their search throughout the Northern Virginia suburbs. Taking advantage of the softness in the market LTM was presented with several great options before making their final selection.

Ad Men Move to Firehouse Square

MRB Films made the move to 908 King Street this summer to expand and upgrade their creative and editing studio. Located on the top floor of Firehouse Square they have unobstructed views of the Alexandria to the west and north allowing them the mental space to dream up more great advertising campaigns for their clients. Tartan assisted MRB through the long process to find the right spot that fit their image.

Language School for Kids Opens in Alexandria

Language Stars, a foreign language school for kids has opened its first DC Area location at 18 Montgomery Center in Old Town Alexandria. The 3,500 sf classroom space will teach children, ages 12 months to 10 years, in French, Spanish, Mandarin, German, and Italian. Tartan Commercial represented the Landlord in this transaction and Les Williams of Jones Lang LaSalle worked on behalf of the Language Stars.

The Hoffman Company Choses Tartan

Much of this space has been occupied by the City of Alexandria Police Department. Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association Select Tartan
