New Developments in Alexandria: Carpenter’s Shelter
Alexandria has been a hub of new developments this year. From huge projects like the Potomac Yard Redevelopment, to whole neighborhoods changing their profile like Old Town North, there is a lot to follow. Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be sharing all that you need to know about these new properties in Alexandria.
New Heights Carpenter Shelter
Opened in 2020, The New Heights Development was completed by Carpenter’s Shelter. On 930 N. Henry St., the new development features a 60 bed homeless shelter, 87 affordable units, and 10 units available to the chronically homeless. The site will also offer an on-site full-time case manager to help residents with chronic issues such as health, education, and employment. The project was completed in partnership with the Alexandria Housing Development Corporation (AHDC), as well as $2 million in donations.
