Best Advisors Give “Tough Love”

July 2017 – Nobody likes to be the bearer of bad news and certainly we are no different.  But the good thing for our clients is that we are willing to give “tough love” when it’s necessary.  In the realm of commercial real estate, that tough love can sound like this:

  •      “Sure, we can list your property. But, you should be prepared for a nine- to twelve-month marketing period until it sells or leases.”
  •      “We can list your property for the amount you want, but it will likely take several months longer or might never sell at that price.”
  •      “We encourage you to make these particular improvements to your property before putting it on the market. But, if you want to sell “as-is,” it will have to list at a lower price.”

Prepping for the Big Office Move

March 2014 – For the sake of argument, let’s say you were keen enough to hire Tartan Properties Commercial, market leaders in tenant representation in to help you locate your new office space. Now, the heated negotiations are complete and the lease is signed and now you are faced with the daunting task of prepping for the big office move.

TARTAN Sells Alexandria, VA Office Building

September 2014 –  TARTAN sells another Alexandria, VA office building.  Principal, Mike Porterfield, is pleased to announce the successful sale of 1319 Powhatan Street in Alexandria, Virginia on behalf of their client Art Services International, Inc. The 7,566 sq. ft. HQ office building sold for $1,930,000 to Sagewater, a commercial pipe replacement company. Additionally, TARTAN would like to thank Steve Cloud and Caulley Deringer of Transwestern who represented the buyer in this transaction. TARTAN sells buildings through Northern Virginia. Time to Make the Donuts-Sugar Shack Donuts of Alexandria

October 6, 2014 – It is no secret the Richmond-based donut shop, Sugar Shack Donuts, has been searching for its first location in the DMV. Today, Tartan Properties Commercial is happy to announce, that with their assistance they will be opening the first store. This store is at the Belle Pre–a new development that has a variety of uses near the Braddock Road Metro.
